The next step

Everything had been like a dream coming true. Everthing started with just one meeting, followed by the next, and the rest is history. Now, we are working together to create an entry for Cinemalaya. And with the rate of what we are doing, I think there are a lot of project in the future.

"Gutom" is one of the many stories (scripts) that I have written. I've used all those experiences about the paranormal to create all the characters and all the stories behind them. I hope that time will come that we would be able to share all of these to everyone.

Corruption or Redemption?

What is it that man seek in his life? Is it corruption or redemption?

It is a natural tendency of man to satisfy all his cravings. But there are certain limits to satisfying everything. This limit is what philosophers call the "moral self".

What is morality anyway? Is it just an inventive concept to prevent people from doing what they wanted to do? Is it just a misleading principle to be able to enslave minds of men? Is it really a sort of guidance or control?

Sometimes we are caught up by the things that we wanted in our lives. We dream to become who we wanted to be. We wanted to possess some material things. We hope to accomplish something. It is not wrong do all those things. These things are nothing but natural tendencies. Besides, isn't it what life is all about? To experience things? To gain and sacrifice all of them in the end?

But one thing that we need to remind ourselves... Is it worth losing some important things in our life?

It is ok to have the desires, passions and all. But if it means losing our respect for our self and our dignity in the process, I don't think it is worth it at all.

When the light grows dim in our life, and darkness consumes our being... maybe it's time to take off the robe and countinue the journey... leaving all those "excess baggages" in our life... If somebody wanted to pick them up... It's their choice, not mine.

(My gratitude to Mr. Philip Tan for those shoots. Thank you so much for the support.)
